As the months passed, one of the chief joys we experienced was to see some of our immediate neighbors sitting shoulder to shoulder at our emerging Pepperell Christian Fellowship Church (PCF). One was a mother with her daughter, a girl whom little Kimberly Bickmore would eventually lead to the Lord in the field behind our house.

Trinity Baptist Church sent me and Wendy out as missionaries in 1979. After we had raised our support, we joined the prison ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ and moved to California. We returned home in 1982 when I became the director of prison ministries for the Evangelistic Association of New England (now Vision New England).

Duane Berry was Trinity’s pastor from 1971 to 1976 and a gifted evangelist. God used Duane to restore the unity and vision of the church. The Spirit brought many new believers to faith. I came as a seminary student intern on weekends to be mentored by Duane. But God had another plan.

In 1949, a small group of families met together for a Bible study at the Nashua YMCA. During that time, a young couple, William and Katharine Henderson, came up from Gordon Seminary to help facilitate the group. As this group grew, William encouraged them to search for a pastor and launch out as a church.
